Ways to overcome depression


Depression is an imbalance in mental health that relates with the disposition, reasoning, working, eating, sleeping etc. A depressed individual or patient is often
withdrawn to him/herself coupled with loss of enthusiasm to all that satisfies them before. If not managed well in record cases it upshots to a chronic psychiatric disorder.

Below are forms of depression/depressive order

2. Seasonal affective disorder

3. Peri-natal depression

4. Psychotic depression

5. Persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia)

BIPOLAR DISORDER- it’s often associated with depression because an individual diagnosed with it does experience high irritable moods.

SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER (S.A.D) - it’s classified as a disorder of less exposure to natural light (sunlight). Person(s) diagnosed with (S.A.D), often withdraw from public/group gatherings, increased sleeping time, with a bit increase in weight gain. It mostly occurs periodically in seasons.

PERINATAL DEPRESSION- This is mostly related with women. But it’s more severe than baby blues. It is experienced after a baby delivery, moods of extreme anxiety and sadness often stops them from taking care of their babies.


PSYCHOTIC DEPRESSION- It’s a form of depression where a diagnosed person experiences severe/acute depression episode with the company of psychosis i.e hallucination, false fixed believe. Etc.

PERSISTENT DEPRESSION- Mostly, last for 48months in a stretch. Generally, diagnosed patients often observes tireless episode of despair but less severe symptoms.

EXITS FROM STATE OF DEPRESSION (1st degree)

Ø Change your lifestyle.

Ø Constant and light exercise.
Ø Expose yourself to little/moderate sunlight daily.

Ø Music- listening to cool songs can help soothe the mind and soul off depressed state.

MILD DEPRESSION (2nd degree)

Ø Taking of supplements that speed up the level of (serotonin). Serotonin is chemical that fights depression in the human brain.

Ginkgo - As a source of natural remedy for years. Ginkgo is purely known for its memory boosting cure. But research as shown its more effective in fighting depression than the latter. As its increases blood flow to the brain and speed up the level of serotonin and dopamine and steadily making reduction to stress borne hormone (cortisol).
